About this artwork
Urban horizon with its reflections. Abstract painting with a knife. The painting is finished with a glossy varnish.
I wanted to represent an urban landscape on a burst of blue in the middle of the canvas, with a horizon representing buildings. The work is in solid color.

« There is constantly a relation between painting and everyday life: a horizon, a light, a reflection, a photo, a dress, an interior decoration, or fashion. Everything, absolutely everything, influences me. »
Edith Verdickt is a French artist whose paintings have been extensively exhibited on a national level. Having lived on the island of Oleron for most of her life, the sea is one of her favorite themes, as it is "a source of life that is constantly changing". Verdickt describes her artistic approach as being in a state of perpetual research and introspection. Her bold abstracts, seascapes, and graphic works are created using acrylics and oils on linen or canvas.
