About this artwork
In this work, I have taken my own daughter as a model using a technique of decomposing the image into fragments, which I have repositioned to cover the entire scene. The main focus falls on my daughter, who is wearing diving goggles, giving her all the prominence.
This portrait has been transformed into a semi-abstract work through the fragmentation of both the subject and the space that surrounds it. I was interested in exploring how this technique… could create a unique and evocative visual representation of my daughter.
The work has been made on a wooden board on a frame. In addition, I have stained the 4 cm side of the work in walnut, which gives it an elegant appearance and makes it perfect for hanging without the need for an additional frame. This decision helps to highlight the uniqueness and beauty of the work itself.
