About this artwork
Return Home” is that moment when the heart seems to recognize the road before the eyes do. Everything around becomes different: the air smells familiar, even the sky feels closer. Every step is not just a movement forward — it’s a small conversation with memories.
In the painting, one can notice a vaguely outlined figure of an old woman walking toward her cottage, leaning on her cane — a symbol of my own outlook on life. No matter where I am or… how comfortable I might feel “away from my home,” I know that I will always return.
This return is not only to the house but also to oneself. Like that old woman slowly walking along the familiar path, I too will walk my way — no matter how long or difficult it may be. And perhaps this is the true meaning of life: the quiet certainty that at the end of the road, there will always be a place that welcomes you without words or questions. A place where everything is yours.

Edvard Badalyan is an interdisciplinary artist and restorer who employs acrylic and oil on canvas or wood, drawing on both academic and private mentorship, with roots in Armenia and an ongoing dedication to painting conservation. His style synthesizes abstract expressionism, abstraction, and fauvism, balancing bold chromatic contrasts, gestural marks, and layered textures to produce works that are both immediate and contemplative. His artworks evoke profound emotional resonance, inviting viewers into spaces of existential reflection, where inner states, memory, and time are transformed into visual experiences of tension, energy, and silent presence.
