About this artwork
This painting was included in the finalists' exhibition for the SOLO Award in London in 2018. The painting depicts a bathing couple at the centre of a psychedelic vortex. The psychedelic colour palette alludes to Aldous Huxley's account of his own psychedelic experiences in The Doors of Perception and his suggestion therein that mind-altering drugs can stimulate the creative process.
