About this artwork
"Double Take” is a work by Egidijus Dapsas in which the artist explores themes of identity, choice, and inner parallels. The composition is built on a sense of duality: forms, lines, or color accents seem to mirror one another, as if two layers of the same world coexist side by side. This duplication creates a feeling of tension and ambiguity, prompting the viewer to question which of the images is the real one and which is merely its reflection.…
The dynamics of color and brushstrokes add a theatrical quality to the piece — as if the artist captured two different emotional states colliding at the same moment. “Double Take” delves into inner conflict and the possibility that several truths, several versions of ourselves, may exist at once.
