About this artwork
Ela Köhler discovered the idea for the "Human Landscapes" series on a plane.
At a certain height, everything was the same: important and unimportant, people and things.
Everything looked the same. From a distance, many things are easy and possible: For example, letting people from all over the world stand side by side, old cultures and the present, prosperity and poverty, politics and culture.
Everything in one picture if the painted figures… of people are the same size / for example 6 cm /
Ela Köhler shows sensitivity to posture as a means of expression.
"Human landscapes" - this is a journey through time and space.
« I am interested in what lies behind the visible. »
Ela Kohler is an experienced German artist who has exhibited her works nationally. Focused on tearing down barriers and creating clarity and density, she composes expressionist portrait, landscape, animal and abstract paintings marked by strong figures and a certain softness.
