About this artwork
The Mirror series are based on the reflections in a vintage car mirror, used in a similar way as was the convex Claude Glass in the 18th and 19th centuries, to isolate and abstract the subject from its surroundings. Taking the mirror to specific, chosen locations, the artist films or photographs the image reflected in the dark and decayed glass to then use as the starting point for paintings.
