About this artwork
The wall sculpture "MNA 5" is a ghost painting. Through this artwork, Elen Alien aims to restart and actualize the viewer’s perception of the sadness of the loss of the past to enhance the joy of the present and change the optics.
The viewer is allowed to see himself, space, and the world through the prism of "mono no aware" literally as the middle of the artwork is translucent. There is a kind of crack between two sides filled with sakura petals… (symbol of "mono no aware" in Japan): this crack is an empty space for the viewer's thoughts and the space for the light to penetrate any darkness.
