This sculptural bust of Viktor Frankl was created as a commissioned work I received two months ago through a Saatchi Art curator. I accepted the project immediately, deeply inspired by Frankl’s life, strength, and inner dignity.
While working on the sculpture, I carefully studied his photographs and biography, reflecting on the difficult path he walked. What moved me most was that Frankl not only survived Nazi concentration camps, but later transformed… his personal trauma into a powerful psychological system that helped thousands of Holocaust survivors find meaning in life.
This subject is deeply personal to me, as my own family—my grandmother and grandfather—also went through the Holocaust. In this bust, I sought not only physical likeness, but also Frankl’s inner calm, wisdom, compassion, and quiet sense of humor.
