About this artwork
I remember the unforgettable feeling of being backstage, preparing to go on the stage. For a little girl in a beautiful, airy dress, it was like stepping into a scene from a fairy tale. The bright lights shining down, the sparkling eyes of the audience, the magical music filling the air — all these combined to create an atmosphere of wonder and anticipation.
For me, those memories of being backstage are filled with a kind of enchanting tension that… has inspired my painting. I want to express the delicate balance between fear and exhilaration that young dancers feel, that raw emotion before they step out and give it all to the audience. The backstage before the performance is a place where ordinary children turn into ethereal creatures, where their dreams of grace and beauty come alive.
