About this artwork
In this piece, I captured the majestic presence of the humpback whale using acrylic paints. The vibrant blues symbolize the depth and vastness of the ocean, while the realistic style conveys both the whale's power and gentleness. My aim was to communicate the freedom and tranquility of this magnificent creature, bringing energy and harmony into the home. Every brushstroke speaks of respect and fascination for life beneath the waves.
Eliane Hofer is a self-taught painter and draughtswoman who primarily works with acrylics on canvas and has been developing her creativity since 2011. She employs an intuitive and expressive painting style with semi-abstract nature motifs, working in layers and emphasizing emotional application of paint, where the motif is always the starting point, not the end goal. Her works invite contemplation, creating spaces of peace, depth, and magic, and conveying a palpable, lyrical atmosphere that words often cannot capture.
