The Macula is the part of the eye most sensitive to light, responsible for viewing high resolution colors. If this is damaged the vision is compromised with dark and blurred areas. The Macula is also that stain present in many animals and which serves to blend in, to confuse, not to be seen.

Elio Arnone is an Italian painter who has exhibited in Spain. As a child, he had a recurring dream involving large white squares that expanded and floated ‘in vain’, which propelled him to artistically express his internal world. Armone’s abstract works are also influenced by imagery such as old walls, ancient wooden doors, grey skies and stones. He paints in watercolors and acrylics with large backgrounds and layers of various shades of white.
