About this artwork
The work tries to describe the concept of Catharsis by overcoming the concept of time since cathartic purification or atonement cannot take place if the burial in the subconscious of something that one no longer wants to "see" has not previously manifested itself. In the same way, Catharsis reveals itself as an exhumation, from the deep recesses of one's "I" of conflicts or traumas, through a purifying act.
Traumas, conflicts or experiences can… also be voluntarily buried, as well as brought to light. In both cases, the process is specifically individual and intimate, unraveled under the undaunted gaze of one's own ego, in an environment devoid of spatiality, hidden by the shadow of solitude, in order to bring (or hide) to the light of one's own consciousness, the event subject of Catharsis.
The man is bent over from the effort of the gesture he is making, exhausted from the long journey he had to face to get there. Alone. In the dark.

Elio Veneziani is a digital artist with roots in the Graffiti universe and a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering-Architecture. He decides to express his thoughts through various Software, developing a personal method, which has its origins in the collage technique. In this perspective he modifies and transforms photographs and images into conceptually complex works, but with a simple and direct morphology. Among his works, a deep investigation towards the inner self and the poignant dualities of life is evoked, offering observers an emotionally charged visual dialogue.
