About this artwork
As I paint this picture, I am under the impression of a flood in Austria. Even in Vienna, the trickle of the Vienna River suddenly burst its banks and became a raging torrent, and because of the great danger posed by the river, even the subway had to be temporarily suspended.
But the positive energy of the processing is also noticeable in the shades of the warm and earthy acrylic colors.
It is a flood described in a picturesque way, as it is also… described by other events, for example, drives that break out, but also the liveliness, the impetuous finding
a processing in order to get back to one's center.
Elisabeth Pein is a dynamic artist who works with acrylic and oil paints and novel materials such as coffee on canvas. Her style is strongly influenced by William Turner's imaginative expression, which she combines with Sigmund Freud's theory to depict profound emotions. Her works create a poetic atmosphere that seems to invite viewers to encounter the familiar world in new, emotionally charged ways.
