About this artwork
Dit kunstwerk is geïnspireerd op fragmenten uit het boek ‘Bezonken Rood’ van Jeroen Brouwers. De fragmenten die mij inspireerden gaan over zijn herinneringen aan een lang verloren liefde: Liza.
“Tijdens de paar seconden dat ik in mijn tuin stond, dacht ik aan Liza, in haar libelleblauwe doorzichtige kleding, jaren geleden. […] In mijn verbeelding zag ik haar in de rechthoekige verlichte etalage boven de etalage van de klokkenwinkel, alsof ze op… een televisiescherm stond.”

Ik schreef tekstfragmenten met metaalfolie in felgroene, gouden en zilveren kleuren. De wisselende lichtinval gedurende de dag zorgt ervoor dat de teksten minder of meer opvallen. De teksten zijn in het Engels en in het Nederlands, mijn moedertaal (en die van de schrijver).
Het kunstwerk is klaar om op te hangen. Er is geen lijst nodig omdat de zijkanten geverfd zijn. Maar op verzoek kan het kunstwerk ingelijst worden in een blanco houten lijst.
