About this artwork
Dit kunstwerk is geïnspireerd op fragmenten uit het boek ‘Bezonken Rood’ van Jeroen Brouwers. In het boek vertelt Brouwers over een lang verloren liefde: Liza.
“...ergens in mijn hoofd werd een filmprojector aangezet en binnen twee seconden werd de film die ik dacht helemaal vergeten te zijn, voor mij afgespeeld. Door de zwerm feestelijk geklede lichamen kwam Liza naar mij toe alsof ze door een versierde stad vol wapperende vlaggen liep (Liza lacht;… Liza staart naar het raam van haar appartement, ze woont boven een klokkenwinkel; Liza naakt en hoe ik haar streel; Liza loopt mee in een processie; helemaal in kleur...”
Ik schreef tekstfragmenten met bladmetaal in goud- en bronskleuren. De teksten zijn in het Engels en in het Nederlands.
Het kunstwerk werd tentoongesteld in Stuttgart, München (Duitsland) en Milaan (Italië).
