About this artwork
Geert Mak's book "The Escaped Land" was a key inspiration for this painting. The artist incorporated text fragments from the book into the painting, using silver leaf.

The changing light throughout the day causes the text to glow more or less brightly. This causes the painting to change over time. The work is ready to hang. Because the sides are painted, a frame is not necessary.
