About this artwork
Cataract began with a small collage about a structure surviving a flood. The desire to see it on a large scale led Albert to create a painting-based sewn-fabric collage, the first in a number of works from this period. The large scale piece took on a life of its own and went through many permutations before settling. The title, "Cataract" took on a second meaning when visual flows are interrupted, and then continue, finding a new direction.
