About this artwork
This is a risograph reproduction made using eco soy-based inks of a section of a much larger work made on nettle linen as part of my "In Contact" performance. See the video for how the originals were made.
The ‘In Contact’ project was designed to provide spaces for people to navigate the climate crisis together, share knowledge with each other, build community, and develop strategies for adaptation and resilience. All of the prints from the project… refer to understandings of the enmeshed relationships between humans and the more-than-human found in my own Welsh culture.
Elizabeth Tomos is a printmaker and conceptual artist whose multidisciplinary background spans sculpture, printmaking, and performance, informed by extensive academic training. Her innovative Perform//Print practice synthesizes printmaking and performance, using site-specific installations, hand-built machines, and botanical inks to explore traces of the body, touch, and multispecies kinship. Her evocative works invite viewers to sense ecological interconnectedness, emphasizing a fluid, empathetic relationship to land and all living beings.
