About this artwork
This painting captures a suspended moment of joy and rediscovery—rising through water, reaching toward light, like it’s the first time. The figure, immersed in the embrace of the sea, moves upward with the quiet urgency of breath and the wide-eyed wonder of a child. It is a return to something essential—air, yes, but also to a state of being we too easily lose as we grow: curiosity, awe, and pure presence.
Rendered in vivid, layered blues, the underwater… world shimmers with life and mystery. Pebbles below echo memories long submerged, while the rippling surface above becomes a threshold—a soft boundary between silence and sound, solitude and reconnection.
This work invites us to pause and remember the magic of first experiences. It is a meditation on the beauty of ascent, the courage to reach, and the joy of feeling fully alive in the space between two worlds.
« Painting is for me one of the ways that can allow anyone to see with his mind what cannot be seen with eyes, to expect the unexpected, to feel alive. »
