About this artwork
In my creation, I infused the canvas with the vibrant contrasts of emotion and nature. Using acrylics and gilding, I depicted an ancient olive tree embracing the land, its roots deeply entrenched in the soil. The tree stands a resilient guard against a tempestuous sea, symbolizing steadfastness in the face of life's turbulences. The golden backdrop not only enriches the scene with a radiant aura but also imbues a sense of precious timelessness. This… piece is crafted to bring a surge of inspiration and peace into any space, reminding us of the enduring power of nature and our own rooted strength. The abstract sea in swirling patterns of blue and green, symbolises the vast expanse of the Mediterranean, which Ulysses traverses on his journey home. It represents both the beauty and the peril of the sea, where Ulysses encounters mythical creatures, fierce storms, and daunting challenges.
« Painting is for me one of the ways that can allow anyone to see with his mind what cannot be seen with eyes, to expect the unexpected, to feel alive. »
