About this artwork

In crafting this piece, I dived into a dark time of my life. Late eighties/begin nineties of the previous century I lived, besides my regular job as a clean cut flower wholesaler from Holland, the secret life of a drug addict. Walking at night through the dark alleys of downtown LA I scored my daily dose of black tar, or like the mexican called it, Chiba... A variant of heroine.
I found my heart back thanks to NA (Narcotic Anonymous). I enjoy… my spiritual life now without the need of any substances or alcohol. Life is too good to waste it!
