The tops of the mountains sleep
and the valleys around,
the slopes and ravines;
reptiles sleep, how many in the species
the black earth breeds,
the forest fairs, the various forms of bees,
monsters in the dark bottom of the… sea;
generations of long-winged birds sleep.
