About this artwork
Butterflies are known as the most naive creatures in the world, who do not fight with each other and are far from brutality. We see a composition that criticizes the ruthless consumption of world resources without thinking about future generations. Based on this, we see butterflies attacking the last flower in the world at the same time to collect pollen. Here we do not see the flower, that is, the "resources of the earth", but instead we see the… pollen emanating from it and the butterflies that land on it appear almost like a flower. In the background, we see the pollen and the broken wing pieces that look like stars, planets and the emptiness of space. This symbolizes that this situation will come and go like this throughout history. It will be enough to see how butterflies attack the last remaining flower in the world to understand this cruel attitude and behavior created on people by the decreasing world resources.
« Art is in the things I see, feelings I feel, the best way I can express what is going on inside me, the messages I want to deliver to my viewers without loosing the beauty of art. »
Emil Aziz is an emerging Turkish painter who has exhibited his work in Azerbaijan and France.
