About this artwork
When I walk through the gorges of the Slovak Paradise, I am always amazed at the resilience and vitality of the local vegetation. On stony ground and with limited access to sunlight, every plant is looking for its own space. Everything here grows in mutual symbiosis, the bark of old trees is covered with moss and small plants, new life grows from dead wood. Incredibly calming, filling with new energy... I hope I will be able to capture part of it…
on this small piece and bring it to your homes.

Emil Mlynárčik is a Slovakian painter whose art has been featured in several solo exhibitions in Poland and Slovakia, as well as in Portugal. Having grown up in a small mountainous village, he was surrounded by folk art, song, dance and crafts. For over 30 years Mlynárčik has dedicated himself to mastering realistic depictions of nature and rural motifs. He works on linen canvases and exclusively uses oils because they dry slower, allowing him to focus on detail.
