About this artwork
A portrait of my father as I saw him at that moment. I love my father. He instilled in me very important values. I've always seen him as a great man; he never put himself first, even though he was a principal. I would describe him as humble, extremely courageous, and honest.
Emilio Ventura uses oil and acrylic on canvas, drawing on his training at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and an apprenticeship with Maestro La Rocca. His style veers between material abstraction and intense figurative expressionism, with layered colors and bold brushstrokes that lend depth and a vibrant three-dimensionality. His works are intimate and evocative, reflecting the deepest human emotions, addressing themes of love, grief, and rebirth, inviting the viewer to reflect on the sacredness and complexity of existence.
