Landscape portrays the Melissani Cave in Kefalonia (Greece) inside an underground spring discovered after the collapse of the ceiling of vegetation and earth.
The painting was created to share the wonder of discovery and tell with images the experience of an external and internal journey into the depths, meditative.
The light breaks the deep darkness of the cave and reveals a secret scenario until now hidden from view.
That very light brings… truth where there was mystery, exposes beauty and suggests new opportunities for discovery in the water in which it is reflected. Both are elements, light and water, essential for life.
Finished during the pandemic period, this work proposes an approach of hope during that experience.
The technique is acrylic and tempera on fine-grained linen and cotton canvas.
