About this artwork
This work is part of the Variazioni series, a cycle of works created on Rosaspina cardboard, in which the body and color become language.
Each figure is born from an instinctive and fluid gesture: the color is poured, pushed, allowed to flow, until it creates shapes that meet and dissolve.
The use of high-gloss enamels and acrylics gives the surface a shiny, almost glassy feel, which reflects light and amplifies the vibration of the tones.
In… these variations on the body I am not looking for anatomical perfection, but the essence of movement, of embrace, of presence.
Color, like skin, becomes the memory of contact: a place where energy, emotion, and matter merge.
The works from the Variazioni su carton Rosaspina series are currently on display in New York as part of a project curated by Tivarnella Art Consulting, which brings contemporary Italian art beyond its borders, in dialogue with the international art scene.
