It is the sea at low tide, calm, it is a tide of equinox. it is a very interesting subject in the blacks because there are sharp and dynamic accidents on the surface of the water and generally the lights in the sky are sharp and contrasted. In this work each relief counts, and it is the feather line that structures the horizon.

Eric Dabancourt is an established French painter and draftsman with national exposure. Inspired by the work of Giacometti, Soulages and Basquiat, he seeks to be just as free in his creative approach. Drawing on pertinent contemporary themes such as social movements in France, and reflecting on nature with a series based on sea and sky, he plays with light and color to achieve an aesthetic that demands contemplation.
