About this artwork
It is a work on the theme of the water source and its rarity according to the regions. In this new era we will count abuses of all kinds and especially the use of water from the bowels of the earth. The source dries up and the earth becomes skeletal. This drawing is worked with pen and Indian ink and dug at the level of blacks to give relief to the earth's crust.

Eric Dabancourt is an established French painter and draftsman with national exposure. Inspired by the work of Giacometti, Soulages and Basquiat, he seeks to be just as free in his creative approach. Drawing on pertinent contemporary themes such as social movements in France, and reflecting on nature with a series based on sea and sky, he plays with light and color to achieve an aesthetic that demands contemplation.
