About this artwork
This piece is about perspective, tiny terrors that loom like giants to the small. "Mantis" is a reflection of insecurity and perspective. In channeling the humble praying mantis, the work rebells against the fear of insignificance that many people face in life. If we are just small, meaningless creatures, we might as well be the most ferocious, exquisite little bugs we can be.
