About this artwork
The young, wild spirit of childhood fascinates the artist with its openness and naivety. Untainted by the biases of adulthood, children are much more aware of their surroundings. But here in the picture you can see a scene from the romantic encounter of three individuals. You can see how reality is dissolving on the outside. The child lives in the moment and is carefree. Secured by the love and care of their parents, they can bathe in total carelessness…
and enjoy life to the fullest. This scene takes place in a small town in Provence, in a small square with an old fountain. On the wall to the left is a sign that reads "L'Esprit Sauvage". Translated it means "The Wild Spirit". This also dissolves completely and the inscription becomes more and more indistinct. The memory of childhood also becomes less clear over time.

Eric Hubbes is an award-winning artist based in Germany whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally.
