It was the smell of his father's linseed oil paint during childhood that marked the beginning of Manoukian's sensory, emotional artistic quest. Primarily using a knife and oil paint, he concentrates on every millimetre, every stroke and twist, every expression and sentiment of his subjects. The resulting works are rich in colour, feeling and vision.
