About this artwork
The Sainte-Victoire mountain is an essential motif in Paul Cézanne's landscape paintings. The numerous representations of this mountain testify to Paul Cézanne's considerable evolution in his approach to it. We can follow this evolution according to the places where he painted and especially according to the period of his life. In his paintings, the silhouette of Sainte-Victoire is very characteristic and I wanted to reproduce it in a very contemporary…
composition. I kept its characteristic outline and worked on its material to emphasize its minerality. The bold color combination used, with almost primary dominants, brings out all its luminosity and gives it an almost captivating presence. By freeing myself from its natural environment, I propose to play on an unexpected reflection and highlight transparencies, thus introducing an aquatic effect. A captivating and original creation that will bring you energy.
