About this artwork
With this series, I simply set out to make fast fun affordable art. I began with a basic shape that first recalled a tombstone, then quickly reminded me of playing pac man as a kid. Perhaps my intention of making lighthearted paintings ultimately lead to the final acceptance of childhood trauma, I suppose it’s all in how you relate to the work. I find intent, meaning, and relation are all coincidental with creation, regardless truly personal work…
speaks to the collective consciousness. For me, these little ghosts are the remnants of issues I’ve already worked through. We all live with our own ghosts, even after confronting things and working through them, little reminders remain. Maybe a strangers voice sounds exactly like an ex lover or a dog’s waddle is absurdly similar to that of your childhood best friend - there are little ghosts everywhere and they deserve to be celebrated.

Eric Wixon is an experienced artist based in the United States whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in Mexico.
