"Ausflug" is a series of works in which Erich Gruber found insects (or fragments thereof), either collectively as a collection or individually drawn.
Insects accompany us all our lives. Most of the time we only notice them when they are annoying. Or you think briefly of the hardworking collector when you're a honey bread.
Erich Gruber is fascinated, he feels attracted but also repelled by the insect world.
In which the artist only shows set… pieces and those in a neutral space, he escapes the pathos.
He "designs" components that mysteriously recall life.

The artist Erich Gruber, born in 1971, lives and works in Salzburg, Austria. He studied at the Hochschule Mozarteum with Dieter Kleinpeter (1995-2001). In his drawings, he shifts the focus and calls for a closer look.
