About this artwork
Fredy Mercury: vocalist, pianist, and composer of the legendary group Queen. His fascination with royalty gave the band its name. The great crown and velvet cape made their appearance near the end of the 1986 concerts, accompanied by the song "God save the Queen".
The painting is made using two techniques: 1- 23.75 Carat Gold Leaf Applications, a technique that dates back to ancient Greece and Egypt. 2- Paint dripping technique, the one invented… by Jackson Pollock: It is made with splashes, splashes and drips of paint, but unlike Jackson, with figurative motifs and a style of post-impressionism.
The painted area of fabric is much larger than 125cm x 125xm, it is actually 140x140cm but the idea is that the excess wraps around the frame on the sides, so that the painting continues on the sides. I include a photo of the entire painted area in the additional photos. It does not have a rigid support, because the paintings travel safer rolled up.

Erick Nogueda enjoys sharing Mexican culture through his paintings and sculptures. He also delves into themes surrounding theological symbolism, and his concerns relating to the destruction of the environment. For Nogueda, the creation of art need not be limited by the objective of portraying beauty. His brightly colored compositions are made using dripped strokes and splashing paint. Through these methods, he enjoys the challenge of unpredictability.
