About this artwork
I put my whole heart into this oil painting capturing the gentle embrace of dawn. The soft pastel tones and gentle brushstrokes convey a peaceful awakening full of hope and renewal. This work invites you to feel the peaceful energy of a new day that breaks through the silence of nature, bringing warmth and tranquility to any space it is in.
The work was born from genuine emotion when I watched the sunrise at dawn and realized how quickly our planet… is moving. It was good to observe this movement against the backdrop of electricity poles.
Erika Aasa is an Estonian painter, printmaker, sculptor, and conceptual artist who graduated from Pallas University of Applied Sciences in 2024. She masterfully blends the immediacy of expressionism, the mystery of symbolism, and the subconscious flow of surrealism, using layered techniques to delve into psychological and emotional processes. Her works radiate a deep sense of introspection, inviting viewers to reflect on resilience, adaptation, and the power of living in the present moment.
