About this artwork
This painting was inspired by the wave of attacks in 2015 in France and Europe. I finished it during the Bataclan attacks, hence its title.
The canvas is painted in acrylic and completely varnished. What is hidden behind his blue eyes? What is the message I wanted to convey?
I will tell you before four eyes, for the walls have ears.

Erika Cool is a Belgian artist from Maastricht, after studying fashion design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht, she worked at the PEREBOOM house, and had a short stint at Saint Luc Brussels. She then turned to cinema, which was open to her in Belgium and then in France, where she was a charming actress for a few years. She later became a graphic designer, a profession she practiced for more than twenty years for L'Oréal, Moulinsart, etc. Erika Cool is a graphic artist who uses painting and various elements to create her works. She starts with a photo that she reworks and sometimes adds an element such as a feather, a ring, a lock of hair. Her unique style explores the theme of the strong, free and feminine woman. Through her art, Erika expresses the complex dynamics of life, capturing both tragedy and happiness in her work.
