About this artwork
There is a tension between the regulated patterning of the ground and the loose pink element, which seems to sing like a caged bird. The diamonds unmoor themselves and try to further suppress the exuberance of the pink and it's resulting orange "Flowers". I was not born with a green thumb and see the flowering of any plants I'm able to maintain as a proof of joy in the plant. There is a struggle to maintain life in non-optimal setting. the dance and growth of the pink across the surface with the desire to remain healthy in this time of infection, and possible death or permanent damage due to Covid.
