Erlend makes paintings with oil on linen and acrylic on paper. For the paintings on paper he has developed a special acrylic painting technique over the years. Erlend paints transparent… up to 20 layers. This gives the painting a layering that makes the paint sparkle. The layers together make the final color of the painting. At the same time, all colors in every layer remain visible. Erlend paints his oil paintings in 2 layers. The first coat is with diluted oil paint. He paints the second layer wet on wet. The paint strokes are loose and vigorously painted.
