About this artwork
Unexpected things often happen. During a walk with my dog, I saw a rotten tree trunk beside the path. Crumbly pieces of decaying wood were crumbling from the center of the trunk. It looked as if a golden trickle was flowing from it. The dark afternoon atmosphere, combined with the "unusual" tree trunk, prompted me to recreate the scene and paint it in an Impressionist style.
