Escha Van Den Bogerd's works have always been an outlet for her emotions. Yet sometimes, the Dutch artist admits, this can also be confronting. Van Den Bogerd's current works are happier and lighter. In her 'Museum Paintings' series, she portrays people observing masterpieces in museums, paintings within paintings that make the viewer feel 'part of history'. She normally begins with a photograph, which she sketches, and then begins the process of painting using acrylics.
