Used coffee sacks are central to my artistic work. This image with the toucan was part of a project called "Café and Democracy." The image served as the basis for postcards on which visitors were asked to write what they associated with the term "democracy." Ten cafés in Frankfurt am Main participated in this project in May 2026.
Eva Zinke is an artist who works primarily with acrylic paints. She discovered the unique qualities of used coffee sacks and experiments with their diverse textures. She uses printed jute sacks as canvases, creating both abstract and realistic motifs in her painting process. Her inspiration and ideas stem from her research into the coffee's countries of origin. This provides her with a rich spectrum of motifs and colors, which she consciously utilizes. The art on the coffee sacks references the numerous coffee-growing countries around the equator. Her paintings aim to awaken curiosity about these countries and foster respect for other cultures. Eva Zinke is a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists (BBK) Frankfurt am Main.
