About this artwork
In this oil painting, I've endeavored to balance elements of abstract and surrealism. I selected creamy textures and shifting forms, inviting the viewer into a dance of dreamlike fragments. The blend of cool blues and bold reds at the apex propose a narrative of emotional contrast and cognitive dissonance. This piece is a testament to the inner conflicts we mask under serene exteriors, poised to evoke profound contemplation and lively discourse in…
any space it graces.
It could also refer to alternate universes.

Raised with a sketchbook, Evy Olsen Halvorsen expresses herself through paint, both oil and encaustic. She begins with impromptu, abstract patterns and colors, gently coaxing them into subjects marked by time. Rewinding memories like worn film reels, her works vividly reincarnate people from the past, eliciting a sense of nostalgic longing.
“The contradiction so puzzling to the ordinary way of thinking comes from the fact that we have to use language to communicate our inner experience which in its very nature transcends linguistics.”
