About this artwork
This work has a symbolic title. The ancient Greek philosopher Heraclitus already recognized that everything in life flows: "Panta Rhei." There is never a static state, even in the universe. I constructed the painting according to this principle. The colors flow, predominantly horizontal in this work. However, there is no chaos; everything has its place and develops harmoniously. Ewa Martens is a versatile artist known for her intuitive and experimental approach to abstract art. Using acrylic paints, texture pastes, inks, fabrics, and other materials, she creates a lively, spontaneous dialogue on canvas—playful yet precise.
Three key moments have shaped her artistic career: a monumental commission for the Miniaturland in Leer with a work over 10 meters wide; a major solo exhibition in 2018 at the Bremen Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians with 91 abstract works spread over three floors; and the invitation to participate in the 2023 Florence Biennale – a significant international recognition of her work.
