About this artwork
Canale Rosso is a visceral work: intense, unapologetic, alive.
In this piece, red becomes a current, a pulse. It evokes blood, fire, passion, anger, and love, all the forces that move us at our core. Through layers and folds, I carved out a rhythm that is both structured and wild, like a heartbeat that refuses to be tamed.
The Canali series is my ongoing exploration of emotional flow, how we contain, release, or suppress what we feel. In Canale… Rosso, nothing is hidden. The energy moves straight through the surface, confronting the viewer with raw presence.
Each fold is a moment of tension and release. Each shadow and highlight tells a story. I don’t use color lightly, deep red, here, is a declaration.
This work, like all my pieces, is made entirely by hand. No two are alike. Because no two inner landscapes are.

Fabio Pietrantonio is a self-taught Italian artist who works across painting, sculpture, and conceptual installations, using raw materials like rope, resin, cement, fabric, and wood to articulate his spiritual and ancestral roots.
