About this artwork
This work, a diptych, emerged from a free, intuitive painting process: without a plan, without corrections, without thought. Each brushstroke followed the previous one, trusting the feeling of the moment. The powerful blues and yellows meet rhythmic lines that drift through the picture like random fragments of thought.
The painting celebrates the creative impulse, the letting go of control, and the courage to give free rein to intuition. "Don't… think, just paint" is an invitation to create in the here and now; raw, honest, and immediate.
Fairouz El Bahr, of Egyptian origin, works at the intersection of painting and jewelry design. Her artistic practice is characterized by a familial connection to art and an early, intuitive approach to color and materials.
Her paintings are abstract works that develop from layering, rhythm, and a dialogue with the image. The creative process remains open, allowing room for change and interpretation.
Inspired by nature, memory, and inner states, she translates sensations into color, movement, and structure. Recurring themes include change, perception, and the interplay between inner experience and the outer world. Her works are conceived as open spaces for personal perception and reflection.
