About this artwork
Nothing restores my peace and allows me to reconnect with myself like sitting beside a river and listening to it's gentle flow, bees humming in the tall grass, watching the sunlight dancing on the water. I have lived and died and was reborn so many times on these banks.
British artist Faith Hesselmann lives and works in Hamburg, painting Expressive Landscapes and Abstracts. Her works are a tribute to the healing power of nature; to its ability to nourish, revitalise, and connect us with our authentic selves. With bold colours, expressive brushstrokes, and dynamic forms, richly textured surfaces lend her work a palpable presence. She invites viewers to immerse themselves in the landscapes she creates and develop their own relationship with the depicted scenery.
Hesselmann's paintings are less geographical scenes than emotional maps: an attempt to chart the shifting terrain of memory and identity. Each composition reflects a geography of the Self, shaped by places from past and present, and those that exist only in feeling.
