L’ opera fa parte della più ampia ricerca condotta a quattro mani con Carmelo Rago, collega e compagno prematuramente deceduto, interamente incentrata sul tombino, inteso come elemento di arredo urbano e simulacro della contemporaneità. Questo “coperchio” posto a soglia tra il mondo della superficie in cui si svolge la vita delle società umane e quello del sottosuolo in cui si celano gli “apparati biologici” necessari al loro funzionamento, è al…
contempo testimone del luogo e del tempo in cui si colloca. Attraverso la tecnica di stampa a cucchiaio derivata dalla xilografia, la ricerca nel suo insieme volge a creare una sorta di inventario di tombini, innalzati ad icone del presente che invitano a fare attenzione a ciò che si calpesta.
